Cosy bed and breakfast near Sainte Mere Eglise in the Cotentin, the heart of the Manche, the beautiful Normandy peninsula. Known for its mild (micro) climate and the azure blue sea on 3 sides.

The Dutch owners have been living in this region since 2007 and as real insiders they can inform you well about all the sites.

Comfortable and small-scale and in a relaxed atmosphere. It is our passion to make your stay in Normandy an experience.

MH, Maison les Hirondelles, is a maison d'amis in Hemevez, a village on the Merderet River. The Second World War did not go unnoticed here.

There is a Willys jeep in the garage. For enthusiasts.

History

The house dates from 1731 and is a completely renovated former farmhouse. It is decorated with a mix of French vintage, vintage and modern furniture. And not to mention a small collection of D-Day items.

There is a large garden at the rear of the house where you can walk and enjoy countless rose varieties, magnolias, hydrangeas, a variety of trees and shrubs.

On the ground floor there is a very spacious salon (50 m2) with large sofas and a reading table. You can sit together, talk, read or listen to music. In this salon there are bookcases full of reading pleasure!

MH has spacious guest rooms and is close to the famous Sainte Mere Eglise and the D-Day landing beaches. On June 6, 1944, the Allies arrived here to liberate Europe.

In MH we want to commemorate this liberation with you and celebrate peace and life. We feel like ambassadors of freedom!

In the immediate vicinity of MH you can go back in time to find out everything about what happened on June 6, 1944 and the period thereafter. There are of course countless other places of interest.

Peace has never been more important.
