MH is centrally located in Cotentin and lies just on the border of the magnificent Parc Naturel Régional des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin. Maybe one of the most wonderful areas of France. And lots to do as well!

You will find all kinds of interesting sides of this are: nature, culture, history (Vikings, William the Conqueror until D-day 1944). Also culinary wise very interesting area. We have many restauranttips.

The Normandy kitchen is well known througout France. Cream, cider, camembert, calvados, caramel, scallops... all good things here start with a c...., alle lekkernijen beginnen hier met een c !!

A nice thing about Cotentin is that it stays lively all year round. Especially from Utah Beach until Cherbourg everything stays open 12 months a year.

MH is centrally located for visiting the D-day area. It is possible to visit the beaches, museums and war cemeteries all year round.

Every year around June 6th many ceremonies of honor are being held. All kinds of D-day related activities, camps, keep them rolling clubs, reenactment groups, marches etc. A very special event to attend. Also our village Hemevez has a serene small scale ceremony with American, French and German soldiers attending every year.

Every 5 years D-day celebrations are a much bigger event with VIP's etc.

A visit to the D-day sites can be quite emotional.
