Barfleur: summer fleamarket on the seaside
Yearly flea- and antiques market in the harbour of Barfleur. 3rd week of July.

Barfleur: le Village fait galerie (kunstroute)
Two yearly event. Inhabitants of Barfleur give their house temporarily to an artist to exhibit his or her work. This makes the whole village an art exposition. 3rd week of April. A must see.

St Sauveur le Vicomte: summer antiques market. Weekly on Thursdays.
During the summer period a professional antiques market is being held on the square (opposite castle) of St. Sauveur le Vicomte. Nice finds.

Yearly professional antiques market (very affordable) at the harbour of Barfleur. With 40 stands. Third week of August.

Agon Coutainville: monthly antiques market
From March - October. Monthly professional market on the square of Agon Coutainville. Last Sunday of the month. Seaside. Great finds.

Fair of Lessay: 2nd weekend of September
Largest fair on agriculture. Exists already more than 1.000 (thousand) years. A must go in order to see Normandy culture at its best.

One of the smallest but very fine fair on agriculture. Small scale but fun happening.

Les Bouchées Cherbourgoises: 3rd weekend of September
During this weekend 40 restaurants of Cherbourg will give a taste of their kitchen. For € 1 or € 2 per taste. Free passe partout. Nice for gourmet tasters!

Journées du Patrimoine: 3rd weekend of September
Great days to see French culture. All museums, churches and important buildings are open for public. Some of which are closed most of the year.
Many more cultural events throughout the year.
Yearly celebration of arrival of Scallops
French fishermen get to catch scallops as of October 1st. Therefore there are some yearly festivities organised to celebrate this. The Fête de la Coquille takes place as follows

November in Courseulles-sur-Mer (50 minutes drive)
November / December in Grandcamp-Maisy (45 minutes drive)

Jazz sous les Pommiers
Every year in the 3rd week of May in Coutances: great jazzfestival, jazz under the apple trees!
Fall & Spring
Every year typical spring and fall festivities concerning strawberries, trees and apples. All year round festivals of trees. You will always find expositions of artists, photographers etc. Many flea and antique markets.
In short, Cotentin has something for everyone all year round. Museums and restaurants stay open. All very close to MH.
